When your order ships
Placing an order holds the pieces for 24 hours. Once we confirm the payment arrived, we pack on the next business day. Weekend orders go out Monday.
If payment does not arrive inside that window the order releases itself and the pieces go back on the shelf. Nothing is charged and there is no penalty — order again if they are still there.
Rates and times
- USPS Ground Advantage — $5.95, usually two to five business days.
- USPS Priority Mail — $9.95, usually one to three business days.
- Ground Advantage is free on orders of $75 or more.
- Collecting in person in the Homestead area — no charge.
These are the shop's own flat rates, not live USPS quotes. The timings are what USPS estimates and are outside our control — a storm or a holiday weekend stretches them.
We ship within the United States only, APO/FPO addresses included. We do not ship internationally.
Collecting in person
If you are nearby you can collect your order in the Homestead area, with no shipping charge. You choose it at checkout, instead of delivery.
We ask for a phone number rather than an address, because handing something over in person gets arranged by talking. Once the order is packed you get an email with the exact address and we agree a time.
The address is sent only once the order is ready, and only to the person who placed it. It is not on the site before then.
We hold it for seven days from that message. Need longer, tell us and we will keep it. If coming over turns out to be awkward, we post it by USPS and you only pay the postage.
Tracking
The moment a parcel has a tracking number you get an email with the number and a direct USPS link. It also shows on your order page.
If USPS marks it delivered and you cannot find it, check with neighbours and around the door before writing to us — it usually turns up within 24 hours. If it does not, write to us and we open the USPS claim together.
Wrong addresses
The label prints the address you typed. If you got it wrong, write to us before the parcel goes out and we fix it at no cost. Once it has shipped we have to wait for USPS to return it; when it comes back we send it again and only the postage is charged a second time.
If something arrives damaged
Open the parcel the day it lands. If anything is broken, stained, split or leaking, send us photos within 48 hours of delivery — of the item and of the box as it arrived.
You get every dollar back or a replacement, whichever you prefer. Refunds go back the same way you paid, usually the same day we settle it.
Returns
There are no change-of-mind returns. This is a small shop with one or two of each thing, and the price sits where it does precisely because there is no returns warehouse behind it.
There are two exceptions, and both are covered in full, postage included:
- The piece arrived damaged (above).
- A pre-loved piece arrived different from how we described it — wrong size, wrong condition, a flaw that was not in the note.
For hygiene, sprayed perfume, opened creams and supplements, and clothing worn after delivery cannot be resold, so outside those two exceptions the sale is final.
How we describe pre-loved pieces
Every pre-loved piece carries a condition — Like new, Excellent, Good or Fair — real measurements taken with the garment laid flat, and a note listing any flaw. Everything is washed and checked before it is listed.
The measurements beat the label. A size M from twenty years ago is not a size M today, and the label lies more often than the tape does.
