Two kinds of email

There are two, and they are different. The emails about your order — the receipt, the payment confirmation, the tracking number, the pickup address — are always sent, because they are part of the purchase. They cannot be switched off while you have an order in progress.

News and offers are something else. Those only arrive if you asked for them, and they stop whenever you say.

How you get on the list

Two ways, both of them a box you tick yourself:

• Ticking “Tell me what is new” when you create your account. It starts unticked.
• Turning the switch on in My account, whenever you like.

Buying something does not subscribe you. Writing to us does not either. If you never ticked the box, you are not on the list.

How you leave

Open My account and turn the switch off — it takes effect immediately. If you have no account, or would rather not sign in, reply to any of our emails with the word STOP, or write to yamisel@ymjcloset.com. We do it by hand the same day, and within ten business days at the outside.

Leaving the list cancels nothing about your orders and does not delete your account. You will still get the emails about anything you buy.

How often we write

Rarely. This is a small shop and the emails are written by a person, one at a time, when there is actually something to say: a new batch of perfume, a clearance, a change to pickup hours. There are no automated sequences and no abandoned-cart emails.

Who sends them and who sees them

YMJ Closet sends them from its own domain, ymjcloset.com. Your address is not sold, not rented, and not shared with anyone else to write to you. We do not use a bulk marketing platform.

When we write to several people at once, everybody goes in BCC: nobody sees anybody else’s address.

What we keep for this

• Your email address and your name.
• The date you said yes, and where you said it (signup or My account).

The date is kept as the record that you asked. If you switch the notices off, that date is not erased — it is the evidence that you did ask at the time — but we stop writing.
